About VCDS-Mobile Assistant

1. Although VCDS-Mobile is platform independent and doesn't actually require anything on your Android device besides a browser, this app makes it easy to locate and identify a HEX-NET™ interface on your WiFi network.

2. VCDS Mobile is a dealer-level diagnostic system for VW-Audi Group cars (VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda, and Bentley).

3. It provides access to fault codes, live data, and various configuration options in all the diagnostic-capable control modules.

4. It also enhances the user experience by helping to keep the browser in sync with the device.

5. Disclaimer: This app only works with Ross-Tech® HEX-NET interfaces.

6. No other WiFi or Bluetooth interfaces are supported.

7. If you don't have a Ross-Tech HEX-NET interface, don't bother downloading this app.

VCDS- Customer Insights

1. So I paid a bunch of extra money for the hex can to be able to scan my vehicle from anywhere, and all I get is frustrated every time I try to use this piece of garbage..... Obviously some of what they do is right because every touch hole on every car forum on the internet praises these guys but I just don't get it.Actually I can't use app, why I paid money for HEX-NET if I can't use it over Wifi? Everytime when running autoscan, app requests ASAM data update, tried to find answer on ross-tech forum without succes.Great for doing quick auto-scans with HEX-NET.

2. Not very well thought through.Works good ,and for your idiots crying ...learn something about devices ! You first have to register anyway ,then after registration,,go to the WiFi setting and make it an Acces point ...otherwise the vcds is looking for internet and you can't connect ! Other than being on the same network 😂 you guys aren't really the brightest huh?For all the praise everybody across the internet gives this piece of...... It will not connect to my cell phone.

3. Just got to remember to disconnect mobile data on recent android versions.Able to scan all control modules in 2004 Jetta, 2012 R and 2017 GTI.Works great.

4. Takes ages to scan for interfaces it can't find, tells you to manually connect to an IP but no function in the app to actually do that.

5. Why will it not work on the S23 Ultra? Supposed to be a web based app, so Android version should be a moot point.

6. As always thanks to you guys.No good for smartphone !!Works perfectly as designed.

7. Dongle cost way too much to not be able to use with newer devices.Not ideal.

8. Yet, it won't let me use on new phones with Android 13.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix VCDS- Issues

1. Fix VCDS- Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart VCDS-: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the VCDS- App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "VCDS-" » Open VCDS-Mobile Assistant » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for VCDS- » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear VCDS-Mobile Assistant app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from VCDS- servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "VCDS-Mobile Assistant" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check VCDS- app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, VCDS- might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall VCDS-. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall VCDS- then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing VCDS- not working


2. Fix VCDS- Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make VCDS- be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to VCDS- not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, VCDS- may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
