TrainingPeaks Customer Insights

1. The low rating is mostly for the fact that I can't look at my workouts when offline which is irritating when you're in the middle of one without a connection.Biggest issue is that it does not work AT ALL when not connected to the internet... can't view my planned workouts for the day or enter any data about a workout I've done.

2. App lacks some functionality of the web interface, like fixing data irregularities (i.e. smooth erratic heart rate from a dry HR monitor during warmup) and big adjustments to the calendar are tricky--switch to the website to load multiple sessions easily.

3. Not the biggest deal, but that data would make the TP fitness algorithms produce more accurate numbers based on my long-term history.Absolutely top-notch integration with coaching and management systems, but presents a torrent of data--can be a little overwhelming.

4. User interface is intuitive, loads of data (way more than I can digest), and easy to integrate with other apps/watch/etc.

5. Example of clunky - to have a conversation with your coach, it's in the "post activity notes" where you can't post a note but edit the entire workout in order to add to it and save it.I've used TP for years with no problems.

6. Not ideal from a UI or data viz standpoint.I've been using the premium version for a month now, after starting to work with a coach.

7. The interface is ok, but there isn't an easy way to repeat a workout over multiple days.

8. Also in the app there's no way to go back on some screens so you have to close the app and start over - quite lame.Glad that a coach can come in to add workouts but this interface is very clunky and hard to use.

9. The only issue I've experienced is populating data from other apps recorded before I downloaded TP.

10. Highly recommended! A suggestion that I think would be a good, small feature would be the addition of an Android widget for a home screen.It's the gold standard for training software, but a bit pricey.

11. Often the system pairs with a workout inaccurately, and it is impossible to change it unless you can get to the full site.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix TrainingPeaks Issues

1. Fix TrainingPeaks Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart TrainingPeaks: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the TrainingPeaks App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "TrainingPeaks" » Open TrainingPeaks » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for TrainingPeaks » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear TrainingPeaks app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from TrainingPeaks servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "TrainingPeaks" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check TrainingPeaks app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, TrainingPeaks might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall TrainingPeaks. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall TrainingPeaks then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing TrainingPeaks not working


2. Fix TrainingPeaks Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make TrainingPeaks be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to TrainingPeaks not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, TrainingPeaks may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
