1. Great concept but not great execution.This app doesn't advertise the fact you can only rent one scooter at a time so if you and your significant or family wanna ride need a app on each phone with different cards and by the time you figure that out they charge you a couple dollars for 0 use of the scooterIt was a cool fun thing to do for a minute..🛴🛵 I zipped up to the store from on I drive that's on the drink got some checkers in the only indoor checkers I've ever seen and I was able to zip back to the hotel quality inn where it went to sleep I wasn't able to shut it down at the checkers which was right up around the corner which surprised me that's the only reason I'm giving 4 stars the range that you're able to drop it in is relatively small but the hotel was within the range 🛵🛴This is a garbage app and a garbage company.

2. I kept moving from location to location to quit the ride but it still wouldn't even though the maps clearly showed that I was inside a green zone.

3. Last ride it wouldn't register the fact that I was inside a green zone to quit the ride.

4. And even in the green zone it's not guaranteed you can end the ride... 🤦🏽 ♂️ I saw other people complaining about this as well.

5. At that point you can't end or even pause the ride until you drag the damn thing to a "green" zone.

6. First time I tried to ride today it basically turned on and turned off the ride within a minute so it charged me for that one ride.

7. The only thing that I did not like about it, was that you could only do one ride at a time on each phone/account.

8. Why not alert me before I leave your oh so special yellow border! The other ones would alert you and even turn off when going outside the service area.

9. And it is really overpriced (more than $7 for 1.3 miles).Great. Few tips... 1) Add/attach wifi enabled hotspot to EACH scooter.

10. I had to call because it didn't allow me to finish my ride (bad gps signal).

11. Please, do something about it.I rode scooters home from the bars all the time in Indianapolis.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Newt Issues

1. Fix Newt Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Newt: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Newt App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Newt" » Open Newt - Scooter Sharing » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Newt » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Newt - Scooter Sharing app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Newt servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Newt - Scooter Sharing" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Newt app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Newt might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Newt. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Newt then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Newt not working


2. Fix Newt Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Newt be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Newt not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Newt may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
