Why should I report an Issue with Herald Sun?

1. Previously, my content could be accessed by simply scrolling down the front page screen beyond headlines - now I must access another screen, scroll to the topic I want (most not visible initially), then search through articles.

2. I have to rotate my device in a vertical position just to read the back page then back to the horizontal position in which I prefer, to read the rest of the paper, it's a simple app, why can't you get it right, this has been happening for years on every deviceThe new format is a mess.

3. The changes don't seem to be for the better.Really doesn't update on NEWS quick whatsoever...HS really need to STEP IT UP BAD!!! And never ever WIN on any of thier competitions ever! Think it's time to move across to thier rivail(s)!!!So, almost 12 months later, you still haven't managed to fix your app, why can I still not access the last page.

4. The new version, released May 2023, is a disaster for reading on a tablet, and they call this an improvement?! They have changed the font/header space so that now the header is barely a few words long unless my app is in landscape orientation; now I have to go into every article just to get an idea of what it might be about.

5. Additionally, if an image in an article fills the screen, it disables the article scrolling, i.e. you have to exit the article, come back in and then flick past the image.The app is not bad BUT the digital version does not download until 5am.

6. Where is yesterday's paper, wanted to show wife something now no previous days paper Not happy JanWhy did you change it all? You don't seem to be able to structure the app to suit what I like to read.

7. What about people who work into the early hours they cannot read the latest version of the paper.

8. The home page is hard to read as you can't tell what the article is about until you open each article.

9. No longer are all items of interest on the one page, you need to click more tabs to access what previously was there in front of you.

10. Do people who design this rubbish ever consult with real users ?Downloading is not downloading, changing pages I have to wait for pages to load up, stop updating app and making it worse.

1. Fix Herald Sun Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

1. Restart Herald Sun: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the Herald Sun App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Herald Sun" » Open Herald Sun » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Herald Sun » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear Herald Sun app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Herald Sun servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Herald Sun" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check Herald Sun app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Herald Sun might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall Herald Sun. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Herald Sun then reinstall.
6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Herald Sun not working

2. Fix Herald Sun Server issues & Internet Connection

1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Herald Sun be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Herald Sun not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Herald Sun may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
