BambooHR Customer Insights

1. My phone's own android settings still says that all notifications for the app are enabled, and I can't find any settings for notifications within the app itself, so I genuinely have no idea why they've stopped — or how to make them work again.Doesn't want to pick up location, doesn't let me clock in, wasting time... restarted device(pixel 7 pro) updated all apps , i don't have the internal VPN on.. I shut it off because of this app...long time ago .. don't what y'all did but your app is not working not letting us clock init's great that you can pick your pronouns.

2. There's nothing optional about that! If a permission is required, that should be made blatantly obvious.Bug fixes are fine, but quit fixing things that aren't broken, such as the GUI.This is the best app for this situation, I love seeing my PTO and vacation time as it accrues! Good job Bamboo!great program both in the app and on the desktop to record work hours, submit vacation, etcThis app WAS great, until the last update.

3. Just looking at the numbers displayed on the calendar will help you see that the app is poorly thought out.I stopped getting push notifications suddenly a few weeks ago, which defeats the whole purpose of having the app on my phone.

4. it's not so great that the app puts them right beside your name is big letters, singling you out if you don't use "normal" pronouns.The app is great for things like clocking in and out, grabbing pay stubs, etc.

5. but when I try to go to the login page, I end up on some other intro page about the program/company and free trials, etc.This app needs a lot of work.

6. Bouncing between both interfaces, like with most other apps is pretty practical, especially since the app version is simplified.

7. For some reason, I cannot view the desktop version, unless of course I'm on a computer.

8. Unfortunately, in the play store, it says location data is optional, but the app REQUIRES location data to be on.

9. I'm very frustrated because I don't have a traditional schedule and need to be able to clock in/out on the fly.

10. In order to be in this market, the mobile functionality will need a major overhaul and quickly so that they are not left behind.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix BambooHR Issues

1. Fix BambooHR Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart BambooHR: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the BambooHR App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "BambooHR" » Open BambooHR » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for BambooHR » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear BambooHR app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from BambooHR servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "BambooHR" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check BambooHR app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, BambooHR might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall BambooHR. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall BambooHR then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing BambooHR not working


2. Fix BambooHR Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make BambooHR be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to BambooHR not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, BambooHR may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
