1. You can buy and manage your games anytime, you can connect with friends and best of all you can REMOTE PLAY your favorite games from your console to your phone/tablet device.

2. Have attempted to remote power on/off my past 3 consoles and sometimes it works but most times it says "sorry, we can't connect you to you console right now".

3. Definitely recommend it! to the devs, keep up the great workIt's a good app for gamepass rewards or points and keeping track of trophies also you can view your screen shots more fluidly.

4. But the only reason I give it four stars is not because of the remote play issues but because every time I try to upload a new profile picture it says it uploads and it never shows up.

6. However, after taking (quite a few) game clips and screenshots, the Xbox app stopped showing my new clips even after the console said they were uploaded, and it even got rid of old ones without permission.

7. I also wish the Xbox remote feature could be independent from the app, so I don't have to reopen it and navigate to the remote every time I want to use it.

8. Its frustrating when I'm laying down and watching Netflix and want to power off my console before I fall asleep, but also in just about any other scenario you can think of where you know you're connected but it tells you you're not.It's ok for general use.

9. It allows you to seamlessly connect your Xbox console to your phone/tablet.

10. The only thing that's missing for me is the ability to edit clip length and then share them like the old app on pc, because doing it on an xbox itself is an absolute pain.

11. I know for a fact it is not my console because the same thing happened with my one x, as well as people having the same issue on reddit.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Xbox Issues

1. Fix Xbox Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Xbox: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Xbox App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Xbox" » Open Xbox » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Xbox » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Xbox app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Xbox servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Xbox" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Xbox app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Xbox might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Xbox. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Xbox then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Xbox not working


2. Fix Xbox Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Xbox be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Xbox not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Xbox may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
