Medela Family Customer Insights

1. Half the time it does not respond to input, nor does it show me the pumping information even though it says it's connected via bluetooth and running.Please bring back the old app!! I use it to keep track of my pump sessions to make sure I keep on schedule when I'm at work.

2. I have switched to another app that easily gives the option to invite another caregiver to log data.Love using this app for breastfeeding! It's also great with the connectivity to my pump when I need it.

3. This bug is there on both apple and Android.This app is absolutely terrible!!! I am so tired of logging in multiple times a day, waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting for everything to load so that I can finally input data, hitting the diaper button only for weight to pop up instead, waiting more after I finally do input data, etc.

4. I also haven't figured out how to easily enter pump sessions when my pump doesn't connect to the app, or how to edit the data once saved.

5. I like the layout and ability to backlog data, but the functionality needs major, major work.Im trying desperately to sign up for this app but Upon attempting to sign up, a prompt of 'oops' keeps popping up without an explanation of what the problem is.

6. I have a $400 pump I cant use the Bluetooth feature of because the app won't let me make an account.I use the swing maxi pump, which does not have a display, so the app is the only way to see what suction level and battery percentage the pump is at.

7. I have not experienced bugs described in other reviews and have been using it consistently for about a week to track pumping sessions.

8. Highly recommend! Only downfall is that there is a bug where I can't upload a picture to replace the stock image of a baby for the child profile.It's a useful app but there are quite a few bugs in the app regarding logging diaper changes, feedings etc.

9. We wanted to start tracking other data on our child but can't find a way to share a child with another user.

10. Tried to manually enter a breastfeeding session and it kept telling me the time entered was not valid.

11. Example the time will be off by exactly 3 hours when saving an event if you change it from AM to PM or vice versa and you have to open the event and re-save it at the correct time.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Medela Family Issues

1. Fix Medela Family Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Medela Family: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Medela Family App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Medela Family" » Open Medela Family - Breast Feeding » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Medela Family » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Medela Family - Breast Feeding app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Medela Family servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Medela Family - Breast Feeding" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Medela Family app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Medela Family might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Medela Family. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Medela Family then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Medela Family not working


2. Fix Medela Family Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Medela Family be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Medela Family not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Medela Family may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • Hi,
    I’ve been using this app for over a year since my baby was born, to track her feedings and sleep. Your app now will not let me sign in. When I attempt to, it brings me back to the sign in window. Please help fix ASAP. Thanks
