About Transport for Edinburgh

1. Plan your commute, nights out or even just a trip to the shops - we use a real-time journey planning system that takes network delays into account when showing you the best way to get to your destination, with full step-by-step instructions.

2. We've made it easy to let your friends and family know when you'll arrive - just track your bus using the app and share a link by email, Twitter, Facebook or WhatsApp.

3. An interactive map shows you every bus and tram stop around you - just tap on one to bring up an instant departure board - perfect for comparing services at different stops.

4. Your friends can track your bus online (they don't need the app) and see when you'll arrive.

5. Using the companion m-ticket app, you can purchase single tickets and DAYtickets for many of our services.

6. The travel app from Lothian has everything you need to get around Edinburgh with Lothian Buses and Edinburgh Trams.

7. Just search for a place, address, business name... anything, and we'll show you the best way to get there.

8. You can also search for routes - we'll even show you if a bus is nearby and show you it moving on a map.

9. Finally, please note that the app requires data access and works best with GPS on.

10. Want to get somewhere fast?

11. Please be aware the continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Transport Customer Insights

1. Always wrong, tracker doesn't work, multiple bugs and the "plan your trip" feature counts on you being able to cover distances faster than Usain Bolt to make connecting buses, even before the first bus in your journey is 15 minutes late and you miss it anyway.

2. Please fix it! It brings up nonsense routes which go back and forth on the spot, tram extension completely missing from the map and tells you that you want Newhaven direction for the city centre (nope) it just rolled over and died on the weekend the buses were changed, exactly when we all need it more to understand the new routes! Bring it back to life, please.Absolutely abysmal and not fit for purpose.

3. Doesn't update fast enough and there is no refresh button.Im so sorry to be negative as as this used to be very good, but I can understand what happened or why it has been changed! The map function isnt fit for purpose anymore - it exists as a tiny strip at the top of the route plan- and the ability track the location of the bus we are waiting for has gone.

4. Edit: review for Android appApp doesn't work correctly - Cannot save personal locations, instead displays "No Results Found" and can be slow and lagging when showing live bus times, both on WiFi and using mobile data.

5. Achingly slow, bus times inaccurate, difficult to use, appalling map functionality, bus routes appear as scrambled nonsense on the map, buses disappear, the list goes on.

6. Avoid.Less reliable than before - the bus tracker maps often don't show actual bus locations (map is blank), and it's hit and miss if the 'plan trip' will come up with an actual result.

7. Otherwise this is a very useful app for planning your journeys ahead of time and finding bus routes.Possibly the worst app I have ever had the displeasure of using.

8. Cannot rely on this app anymore. When you plan a journey it doesn't show you the full map.

9. Buses don't appear on the map at all or there is a significant delays between where it is in real time and on the tracker map (8-10 stops).

10. For example, showed the No.43 goes along Rose Street and doesn't stop at St Andrews Sq.This app hasn't been working properly for months.

11. For me app frequently does not show correct bus routes (and gives wrong journey times as a result).
