Why should I report an Issue with Canvas Student?

1. Duplicate notifications cannot be turned off, and after the recent updates, comments will not show up for assignments unless they're file submissions.

2. Assignments with long explanations only show the first few paragraphs, text post assignments don't tell you what the prompt is, dark mode consistently makes text unreadable, etc.

3. Good app.The app works fine for getting a basic overview of things, like checking what's due and what your grades are, but too much of it doesn't work right.

4. One gripe is that it does make you sign in more than you should have to and it gets very annoying when you are in class trying to do a small quiz but end up being the last one working on it because the app took too long to sign in to.

5. It would be nice if a Canvas page had an option to open in the browser (I was watching a video, and it didn't go Fullscreen like I wanted so I had to pull canvas up in my web browser instead)It's okay.

6. Large uploads don't work most of the time, so for classes requiring video uploads, I have to run the video through another program to downgrade the quality, or split it into chunks.

7. Since this app is mostly used by online students, really need to add more features related to time zones to make sure due dates on assignments are clear.

8. There are, in general, very few settings available to configure the app - I'm sure you can add many user preferences, especially related to notifications.

9. Dark mode does not affect the actual document body of lessons.

10. Marking a lesson as read and moving onto the next does not work.

11. Gradually, though, the number of duplicate notifications increased from 1 to 2 to 3 and so on... I have tried turning notifications on and off.

1. Fix Canvas Student Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

1. Restart Canvas Student: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the Canvas Student App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Canvas Student" » Open Canvas Student » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Canvas Student » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear Canvas Student app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Canvas Student servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Canvas Student" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check Canvas Student app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Canvas Student might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall Canvas Student. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Canvas Student then reinstall.
6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Canvas Student not working

2. Fix Canvas Student Server issues & Internet Connection

1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Canvas Student be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Canvas Student not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Canvas Student may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
