1. Anticipate lighting conditions in photography/filming, real estate, architecture, outdoor activities (e. g. setting up camp), solar panel positioning, gardening, and more. ★ The Camera View displays the solar position and lunar position directly overlaid on your device's camera.
2. Use the slider to set the time of day and directly track the solar movement. ★ The Map feature displays the solar and lunar location, direction and shadow on a map to help you plan your activities. *Photography: when and where will the sun rise and set?
3. When and where will the moon shine tonight? *Gardening: do your plants get enough direct sunlight during the course of the day and year? *Real estate: does a neighboring building obstruct the sun and cause shade? *Architecture: How much sunshine will your home get?
4. The Lite version is free and limited to information for the current day. -the AR feature relies on your device's internal compass.
5. Sun Locator predicts the sun and moon position and path at a specific location during the course of a day.
6. Does the sun shine through your window?
7. When are the Blue hour and the golden hour?
8. Calibrate your compass regularly to make sure the displayed solar position is accurate.
1. At last! It has the very cool 3D shadow feature that I've been looking for! (When is the sun in my canyon? Winter time has ~2 hour delay)😀👍 However, it has some annoying limitations: No reasonable zoom in or out, or rotating of the 3D map.☹️ PLEASE fix.... In visual camera mode you can watch & track the sunrise directly (very cool), but not in 3D mode.
2. Not sure why… Wouldn’t a download of additional data (DEM files?) be enough to make it work? This has helped me plan my photography/walking route over a period of time to try keep the sun on my back as much as possible to increase my chances of capture better pictures.
3. UPDATE: Most of the time I'm NOT around any magnetic interference when I tried to use this app (lakes, river, ocean).Free version worked great and I referenced it frequently.
4. Looking forward to more improvements.just... plain... awesome... I used the free version of this app for some time (also awesome) for determining the best times/locations for photos while traveling.
5. I am able to use this app for scoping out my favorite places to get great shots of the sun and moon rising and setting.I like the app, especially its 3D simulation mode, which helps me immensely when hiking the Alps in autumn.
6. I love the concept!👍Great app, very helpful for photography, film production & planning how to set your house .. It would be great if it could be possible to set the date while checking the sun position while on a map view.
7. This app is by far the best and a essential tool for anyone who wants to start taking better photos or understand the terrain and relation with sun it's great for gardening and geography students.
8. It helpless with taking the next step in photography which is needed these days to standard out from others with all the different platforms, why use photoshop when you can learn to take better photos naturally.
9. The terrain simulation is fantastic, I can see that coming in useful on holidays in areas I'm not familiar with.People are too quick to find negatives these days especially online.
10. Since the author is asking "What types of improvements are you wanting to see?", I’ll say: 3D mode availability in more parts of the world.
11. It would be also great if you could do the locking position exactly where I stand, it moves always a bit away ..I upgraded to the pro app and love it.
