MoMo Customer Insights

1. 💛The app is okay at least they are progressing gradually though they still need to add more banks like other banks app and allow all its functions to be able to send to wallet account as well and some micro finance,then service has to be stable 😉 like seriously the service is annoying 🙄 but I think very soon it would be better just like Opay,Palmpay, kuda and Chipper cash.

2. Pls fix this.There transactions is very poor,they are even inconvinienting you with your money Imagine its my first time using their app I sent money with their used code it those not went through I have to wait for 48hours before they can retrieve it after retrieving it again I transfer the money to someone could you believe the money did not go through again waiting for another 24hours againPerfect way to be used.

3. I funded my wallet and transferred to an opay acct and yet the recipient hasn't been credited yet for more than 10 hours now then I tried reaching out to the Customer care service hotline and they keep me on hold for more than 20 minutes.

4. No 5 digit code is ever sent And navigation on the app is super limited As a matter of fact the app is far from being flexible I gave it one star so I could have the chance to comment if not it will be Zero 0 .. This is not even an app.

5. So, final validation of a transaction should be signed by entering your MoM password againThis app is madness I've tried downloading it more than 3 times now but it keeps having the same issues.

6. It's better now I'm currently using this app they've made some good upgrades The prob is you can't us wifi or switch sim numbers.Latest update is a shambles.

7. My first time using it and it makes me know that I can't trust them with my finances.

8. In addition the does not support all phones like rooted phone while other bank app do, they should make it applicableAmazing experience.

9. The fact that you force people to use MTN SIM, data and network defeats the whole pupose of the app in the first place.

10. However its user can be vulnerable when they just login to the account until the time the login times out.

11. The app keeps on asking for OTP everytime you want to login in.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix MoMo Issues

1. Fix MoMo Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart MoMo: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the MoMo App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "MoMo" » Open MoMo » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for MoMo » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear MoMo app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from MoMo servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "MoMo" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check MoMo app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, MoMo might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall MoMo. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall MoMo then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing MoMo not working


2. Fix MoMo Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make MoMo be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to MoMo not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, MoMo may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

    I'm unable to register any new cell nr, since I got a new SIM, but lost my number and forgot my MOMO pin.

    No one at MTN can assist me for 6 months now.

    Under GDPR: EU/UK Residents have the right to ask (via email), an organization that holds data about them to delete it. This is known as the ‘right to erasure’. Organizations have one month to respond to the request.

    Under CCPA: California residents have the right to request that a company delete the data/personal information it has on them. A failure to comply with this will result in a fine of upto $7,500.

    Now we understand what the Law says, Here is how to handle the account data deletion request:

    To delete your MTN MoMo account, contact MTN MoMo via email and provide the reasons for your request.
    Mention the law under which you make your request (GDPR or CCPA).
    Notify MTN MoMo of the penalty for non-compliance - A $7,500 fine under CCPA and 4% of annual turnover under GDPR.
