1. That is, to aid user experience, having the page reload and ready for another quick data sending would bemust better than having to go to home screen everytime, especially when I have multiple data to end at the same timeThe MyMTN app is a good one to have, the UI is not too impressive (it's just average).

2. I mean seriously!!!!!!What's the use of an app that's meant to help you monitor your data usage for your line in a router but the app does not send the requisite OTP to the email address thus denying you access to know what exactly is going on.

3. One thing I'll add though, for user experience, especially for sme, the data sending page, should be such that the "x" close button after sending data, defaults back to the share page.

4. I don't like the fact that the app doesn't work offline, it could have been better if it make use of a cache memory where it stores some information whereby one can quickly access such information offline & get it updated (refreshed) when one goes online to update its content.

5. The amount of options you had in the old version and the amount of info in the various voice data etc options and usage has been cut back.

6. They send you an offer but once you try to activate it, they'll be like "oops, seems like you dialled the wrong code." If you're not gonna give me an offer, don't waste my time and space by sending me a text message about it.

7. Good side of my MTN app is buying data from within the app is way cheaper than using my banking app.If you're an mtn user, then this app is a must have.

8. And unlike certain other apps ("my airtel"), you don't need data to access it.

9. U know have to be able to do math in order to work out how much actual anytime DATA u have available.

10. It takes a Zillion years to load payments page when you try to make purchases from the app using your card or bank account.

11. Using the plus and minus icons beside the input changed the value by R20 intervals which seems inappropriate within the context I was trying to use it for.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix MyMTN Issues

1. Fix MyMTN Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart MyMTN: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the MyMTN App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "MyMTN" » Open MyMTN » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for MyMTN » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear MyMTN app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from MyMTN servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "MyMTN" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check MyMTN app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, MyMTN might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall MyMTN. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall MyMTN then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing MyMTN not working


2. Fix MyMTN Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make MyMTN be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to MyMTN not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, MyMTN may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
