Choice Hotels Customer Insights

1. This version not as user friendly.I'm the highest level of reward member with this hotel chain, an Elite Diamond Member because I travel 9 months out of the year for work.

2. Otherwise super easy to book a stay and being a member gets you a few perks and a little off your room when booking right through them.Have not been able to access the app since installing it the other day.

3. Keeps giving sorry can't connect to server error, you have to uninstall app and reinstall app then it works but wolith small issues, like I can't search an area for a room.

4. For the last few weeks any time I've opened the app, as I start to type the city I want to search in, before I can finish the typing, the entire app freezes and I have to restart my phone, or it crashes.

5. Now if only the customer service/front desk workers at certain hotels could be more pleasant to work with!It's a good easy to use app, but can be a bit confusing at times.

6. On occasion I'd like to have info on stuff near hotel x vs hotel y, but I'm ok with quick bookings of places that are always clean and friendly, now that I think of it.

7. GREAT!About all this app is good for is checking your point balance and finding a hotel at your destination.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Choice Hotels Issues

1. Fix Choice Hotels Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Choice Hotels: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Choice Hotels App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Choice Hotels" » Open Choice Hotels » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Choice Hotels » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Choice Hotels app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Choice Hotels servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Choice Hotels" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Choice Hotels app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Choice Hotels might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Choice Hotels. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Choice Hotels then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Choice Hotels not working


2. Fix Choice Hotels Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Choice Hotels be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Choice Hotels not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Choice Hotels may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
