Yi Home Customer Insights

1. lags so that half the time it's faster to click a camera, click back and then click it again to get it to go.Giving 4 stars because the app is great but the bar at the bottom of the screen saying "cellular data applies" is really annoying.

2. The app continually tries to get me to buy the cloud storage and I think Yi makes the camera not work because I don't have the cloud services.The latest update keeps crashing.

3. I'm going to have to switch because it has gotten annoying and ridiculous..I thought updating the cameras would work but of course it didn't..I just wasted more moneyLatest version very buggy.

4. When using your phone it's quite frustrating trying to hit that tiny X just so you can see the entire image.App is extremely buggy and it takes forever for connection to the cameras to load.

5. It disappeared 😕Had to reset my cameras and add them due to upgrades to our home wi-fi router and now it says our camera are paired and ready for use to hit continue but when I hit continue it only blinks and nothing happens.

6. Been a customer since 2017.UPDATE! After nearly 2 months I can use it again! Support goes thru email, & takes DAYS, asking 1 or 2 questions/time.

7. Used to work fine before the latest update.The cameras are fine and the app works but is very annoying.

8. they are constantly pushing their pay services and there is a time tracking bar that blocks part of your viewing screen that has no way to turn off.

9. Wifi speeds are 400mb and it still takes forever to connect or the camera connection regularly fails.

10. Then when I tried going back to the live feed and switching the times to the time that my daugther was a wake and I know this for sure.

11. This was an occasional problem before, but now it is a chronic problem and happens consistently.This is my second time getting this system.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Yi Home Issues

1. Fix Yi Home Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

  1. Restart Yi Home: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Yi Home App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Yi Home" » Open Yi Home » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Yi Home » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Yi Home app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Yi Home servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Yi Home" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Yi Home app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Yi Home might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Yi Home. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Yi Home then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Yi Home not working

2. Fix Yi Home Server issues & Internet Connection

  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Yi Home be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Yi Home not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Yi Home may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
