Pulse Customer Insights

1. giving 1 stars for it is not working but will be great again if it pairs with my phone. Finally arrived yesterday, strange that it's iOS firmware based and won't let my android update... Time lapse works fine, but only one feature 'exposure ramping', adds to the disappointment along with the Bluetooth issuesAs of September 24, 2020, the latest update does not work.

2. Feels like an Android OS/pulse firmware issue but I have no way to upload new firmware..... Was very supportive of this concept when it first came out but Alpine Labs doesn't appear to be interested in supporting this unit anymore.

3. If you're lucky enough to connect at all, you'll likely constantly get disconnected, or the thumbnail feature won't work, or it will tell you that the device is connected, but it isn't connected to a camera.

4. Easy to use as long as the connection is good.Update July 21 2020 dec 22 2020 NOT WORKING.team won't respond waist of money I want this to work can't even send bug issue through this app.

5. Sad.Like virtually everyone else here says, the app is trash, the firmware is trash, the Alpine Labs team aren't updating the app to work with new phones.

6. The app is hopeless irrespective of the phone and the Pulse refuses to recognise any of my cameras despite updated drivers and the latest firmware.

7. Scam.Perfectly useless Classic example of someone making money at the start of something and then refusing to plough some of that back into R&D, firmware and software updates.

8. - have used product for years but now cant get it to pair with phone via app or bluetooth whether it is attached to camera or not.

9. Pulse isn't one of them. The Pulse does not connect with my Nikon D5200 camera.

10. I have downloaded the Pulse software to a Galaxy 10+ and also to a Galaxy 6 and neithenr phones connect.

11. Useless unit and I feel like a real chump for supporting Alpine Labs on Kickstarter.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Pulse Issues

1. Fix Pulse Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

  1. Restart Pulse: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Pulse App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Pulse" » Open Pulse » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Pulse » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Pulse app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Pulse servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Pulse" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Pulse app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Pulse might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Pulse. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Pulse then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Pulse not working

2. Fix Pulse Server issues & Internet Connection

  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Pulse be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Pulse not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Pulse may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
