My Light Customer Insights

1. Cannot control color an sound.Works great bought 4 of them couldnt get 6 they only allow u 4 but ok i dont understand what the music button is 4unjustified requirement for permission to gps, making calls, media and file access.

2. The permissions are not all that weird phone access is for connecting calls for handspeaker and access to files is to play music, the location that one is strange.It's a criminal app, made by a criminal hacker, who wants to take controll over everybody's phone.

3. It does NOT mention "making phone calls", while this is certainly the case after installing the app, if you want to use it.

4. The music plays through the phone speaker instead of the bulb.Worked for a week.

5. Nonoftheless these are mandatory requirements if we want to use the app, without which this 2-bit lamp bought in a chinese shop doesn't work!.the app is good but i wish they had more scenes like strope lights.

6. Works with both at the beginning it had issues working with the newer one but I unpaired it and retried and it worked I did turn off the bulb and all.

7. It has NOTHING to do with "erasing the SD card in the phone", or "making and managing phone calls" etc.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix My Light Issues

1. Fix My Light Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart My Light: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the My Light App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "My Light" » Open My Light » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for My Light » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear My Light app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from My Light servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "My Light" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check My Light app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, My Light might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall My Light. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall My Light then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing My Light not working


2. Fix My Light Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make My Light be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to My Light not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, My Light may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
