About Waterford Mentor

1. It allows parents to sync with a student account and see the student’s usage time and achievements in Waterford Early Learning to keep parents “in the know.

2. Parents can see the amount of time their student spends in Waterford Early Learning.

3. Parents can see the academic achievements that their student earns as they progress through the Waterford Early Learning.

4. The app breaks down the usage time by subject area and shows parents whether the child is on track for the week.

5. Mentor is a new app that works alongside Waterford Early Learning.

6. After you download the app, you will need a code from your student’s teacher to connect to your student’s account.

1. You can also access tons of really great resources and print outs to keep your child's mind constantly learning in fun ways.I love being able to track my child's progress with a fingertap on my phone.

2. The app sends a toast that the sign in was approved and then it goes right back to the login screen.I really enjoy the app access, being able to check my child's progress while I am away is great.

3. Sure once I get to the program it'll be great, but getting there total joke! So beyond frustrated with this!!This app is so handy for keeping up on your child's minutes and also gives you some great tips on different ways to engage with your children.

4. Login works, but this app is pretty useless without the progress dashboards- which holds your child's scores, progress, areas of difficulty, completed objectives, etc.

5. I can see progress even while she's "in class"! I love the personalized emails to help me find ways to help my child be more successful in the program.

6. The app does not allow you to start sessions, but you can view progress, achievements and messages sent by your progress coach.We're just beginning to use Waterford Mentor but this is a serious upgrade from previous times my kids have done Upstart.

7. Side note: it's way too easy to delete a child's information (I almost pressed it on accident) so if there isn't a "confirm" feature, it needs oneRead your feedback... you have got to fix the login.

8. This app has been a great addition to the program.This will be the FOURTH time I've completed the parent introductory videos... yes, completed on a computer NOT my phone.

10. I've had three children in the Waterford UPSTART program before and my child enrolled now is the first I've had this app for.

11. PLEASE ADD IT TO THE APP! So basically this is only good to see if your child has completed the weekly requirements and some of their achievements (doesn't include everything they do).

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Water Issues

1. Fix Water Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Water: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Water App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Water" » Open Waterford Mentor » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Water » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Waterford Mentor app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Water servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Waterford Mentor" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Water app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Water might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Water. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Water then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Water not working


2. Fix Water Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Water be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Water not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Water may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
