1. Thisapp is in serious need of an update.Yep did not connect to my Pioneer unit even after i just been playing music from phone through Bluetooth, i tried plugging phone in via usb and still not connecting.

2. after initial set up, rather than use the external GPS antenna supplies with the receiver, it reverts to use the phone GPS antenna, or lacks features built into the head unit, such as creating saved locations.

3. Other than that it is nice to enter destinations on your phone which can be transferred to your AVIC head unit in your vehicle.I have multiple appointments each day.

4. Just a waste of time, i think in the end the Pioneer Head Unit was far to Advanced and that is why you cant connect 1 with the other.Liked it at first for the live traffic.

5. also it doesn't update internet based results on the head unit even with perfect connectionsIt's a lil difficult to figure out @ 1st.

6. It keeps telling me my phone isn't associated with the stereo, even tho I'm connected via Bluetooth and USB.

7. It keeps asking for permission to a phone although it already has all of the permissions.

8. Made two purchases to renew the connected services and update maps and when I try to download them it tells me unexpected error 101.

9. Works fine.This used to work with my S8 but after attempting an update, the update failed and the App fails to start.

10. I'm quite unimpressed, partially because of the glitch, but mostly because of the implication that I have to give the app permission for the phone.

11. If you decline, it says that it needs access to your phone.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix AVICSYNC Issues

1. Fix AVICSYNC Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart AVICSYNC: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the AVICSYNC App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "AVICSYNC" » Open AVICSYNC » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for AVICSYNC » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear AVICSYNC app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from AVICSYNC servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "AVICSYNC" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check AVICSYNC app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, AVICSYNC might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall AVICSYNC. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall AVICSYNC then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing AVICSYNC not working


2. Fix AVICSYNC Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make AVICSYNC be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to AVICSYNC not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, AVICSYNC may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
