SWISS Customer Insights

1. On a recent flight Online checkin didn't work, the attempt to print luggage labels was stuck in a loop of screens (why not just allow to send boarding pass and luggage label to the same contact plus whatsapp ?), seating preferences are constantly being ignored.

2. It does not store your data from previous flights (flew one way with normal online check in and wanted to check in with app for return flight and had to input most of information again).

3. Fix the basics please.I'm a frequent flyer, check-in function it's not working anymore since 1 month and still no fixes, current flight list disappears for no reason at random, it's getting really frustrating.

4. WHY does it need to access my photo/video files to show the trip map? (It showed the individual itinerary without the map when it wasn't given permission.)It doesn't get much worse.

5. Just don't bother with the app.Buggy - doesn't seem to save information entered, even when I've logged in with flight number and/or miles and more information.

6. People need to refill the same reference number and passenger names again to manage the trip.

7. It shouldn't ask for individual names and reference number who are on the same itinerary.

8. I had to call customer service to check the info, which defeats the purpose of the app.Terrible app.

9. Better to use directly the online site.The App feels like it is stuck in Beta state forever.

10. The app won't find your reservation if you don't add the middle initial to you first name.

11. Worst airline app I've seen and a stain on the otherwise stellar reputation of Swiss.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix SWISS Issues

1. Fix SWISS Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart SWISS: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the SWISS App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "SWISS" » Open SWISS » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for SWISS » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear SWISS app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from SWISS servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "SWISS" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check SWISS app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, SWISS might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall SWISS. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall SWISS then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing SWISS not working


2. Fix SWISS Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make SWISS be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to SWISS not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, SWISS may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
