1. In Local Access mode, the Omada app can manage devices when the Controller and your mobile device are in the same subnet; in Cloud Access mode, the Omada app can access the Controller across the internet so you can manage your devices wherever you are.
2. Controller mode works together with a software Omada Controller or a hardware Cloud Controller, and is suitable for managing multiple devices (including gateways, switches and EAPs) centrally.
3. You can manage devices in Controller mode in two ways: via Local Access or Cloud Access.
4. Compared to Standalone Mode, more configuration options are available and supports to manage more devices in Controller mode.
5. Standalone mode is designed for managing EAPs or wireless routers right away without having to spend time configuring a controller.
6. Controller mode allows you to configure and automatically synchronize unified settings to the devices in the network.
7. This mode is recommended for networks which only have a few EAPs (or wireless routers) and require only basic functions, such as home network.
8. Omada app is used for configuring and managing your Omada devices.
9. You can change settings, monitor the network status and manage clients, all from the convenience of a smart phone or tablet.
10. Each device is managed separately.
11. The controller mode currently supports hardware cloud controllers (OC200 V1, OC300 V1), software Omada Controller v3. 0. 2 and above. (To experience more features support and more stable services, we recommend that you upgrade your controller to a new version).
1. I don't know why this has been done, but the old layout was 1000x better.Good app, occasional niggles having to try to log in more than once to the mobile app but I have found the whole thing very easy to use and set up with the OC200 controller and a switch, the whole set up with wireless access points was virtually plug and play with an easy-to-use mobile interface, just unbelievably simple, no IP configuration, the Wi-Fi network has awesome coverage, I was amazed it was so easy and everything works great.Fantastic app.
2. I've been able to block and unblock Wi-Fi clients at will which is all I really wanted!Super easy to control my home network of a few APs, with fast roaming, band steering and other nice features.
3. Also, on the app "feedback" section, we need more than 200 characters to explain betterSo far, a very useful and well written app! I wish that some of the features from the web-based management console were available in-app as well, and some design decisions make certain things difficult to find, but all-in-all, a great app for managing Omada systems.
4. Update - please bring back Display Options "By connected device" for clients so we can see what AP the client is connected to.Latest update 4.8.12 has lost info like 'connected device' etc on the clients page it seems.
5. Things like authentication especially voucher generation would've been a great addition, since that is the only reason I open the Omada controller. We have been using Ubiquiti's Unifi system for years.
6. PLEASE, BRING IT BACK: After a recent update, on the clients tap (right/underneath/wifi signal), i used to be able to see to what AP a client was connected to.
7. After update, the app only shows what wifi network a client is connected to.
8. Why is this not a gear like most settings menus?)Hi developers, the only thing I find lacking so far is a way to assign a standard name to Mac addresses so I don't have to try and remember which Mac address belongs to which device.
9. For what it's worth, it has been a more stable experience for us than Ubiquiti has been - and they actually have support! The latest updates have removed a huge amount of functionality.
10. So filtering changes the order but now for instance the connected device is still unknown.
11. (The design decision that's most frustrating is that the "!" in a circle is hav you bring up the menu to edit site settings.
