PowerSchool Customer Insights

1. Although, it does miss quite a few important aspects the website version has that the mobile app does not have, for ex.- useful things such as: showing summer school courses and grades before the actual school year starting, class registration, co-teachers under classes, and past student reports.

2. For the times it does work (as a student), it shows updates on grades and is pretty useful and easy to access in quick time frames.

3. Hopefully it gets fixed eventually.Horrible useless app! It was great when it worked properly in previous years, but now it rarely ever sends alerts, and it is always way behind updating the grades.

4. What is the point of updates if the issues aren't fixed? I have used this app, in conjunction with kids school, for years and this is the most frustrating it has ever been.

5. It is rejecting all my attempts to reset! Hating this app right now, as it does no good when I can't use it.Just did the latest update because the app couldn't sync with the server.

6. For months now though it's been unable to sync with the server, even after multiple updates.

7. Please actually fix the bugs so parents and teachers can work together for the students.2 stars for the fact when it did work it was great.

8. Not I keep getting an error message and can't see my child's grades.

9. The app hasn't worked almost all year, the school has even sent emails that they know it's not working.

10. I finally started getting updates, but still couldn't see the actual grades when I would go to the app.

11. The whole point of a MOBILE APPLICATION is so that I can check and monitor my students grades from where ever.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix PowerSchool Issues

1. Fix PowerSchool Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart PowerSchool: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the PowerSchool App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "PowerSchool" » Open PowerSchool Mobile » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for PowerSchool » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear PowerSchool Mobile app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from PowerSchool servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "PowerSchool Mobile" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check PowerSchool app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, PowerSchool might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall PowerSchool. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall PowerSchool then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing PowerSchool not working


2. Fix PowerSchool Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make PowerSchool be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to PowerSchool not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, PowerSchool may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
