1. Miiriya, a place to shop Black Owned Businesses, gathers people who believe in ideas, change, and come together as creatives and thinkers to make those ideas come true.
2. The word Miiriya is a word from the African language of Bambara/Dioula, my native language.
3. The word means “Thoughts” and “Ideas. ” It can be used in many ways.
4. It’s a place that aims to provide you with whatever comes to mind.
5. Vendors can sign up using the human icon at the top right on the website.
6. In specific cases it can also mean “Philosophers” or “Thinkers.
7. There are no transaction fees and no listing fees.
8. I pay out of pocket to maintain the website’s bills.
1. Edit: some people think its a scam? I've ordered multiple things off this app from real Black owned vendors and never had a problem.
2. Thank you!! EDIT: bugs were fixed and this app has only gotten better, more flexible, & easier to use with time! The app is really glitchy and takes too long to load.
3. Overall it's a great experience.I can't wait to get my next paycheck so that I can start buying things from this app! It's easy to use and didn't take me long to get the hang of it! Unfortunately it crashes on my phone pretty frequently (I think it's just old).
4. In order to get us off of Amazon in this rat race society tho, the pages need to load way faster! I have Android, but I also do online shopping in between other activities.
5. Meanwhile, the app itself is also glitchy and does not work! I was forced to stop using this app, but unfortunately my account is still active.Hi! I love the app concept! It's very amazing what this all does! But, one small problem.
6. It just doesn't have a lot of what I normally buy other places right now.I haven't bought anything yet, but I haven't experienced any of the bugs I see others reporting (infinite loading, etc).
7. while the interface isn't as sleek and polished as the apps used by multi-billion dollar companies like Amazon, it is still simple and easy to use.
8. There's a few bugs to be worked out yet, and the selection is really limited in some places, but that'll change as more people start using the platform.
9. Some of the things on here aren't even Black owned, but are just basic stuff from retailers.
10. Can't wait to send this to my mom to hint hint for some Christmas gifts made by amazing Black creators!Amazing app.
11. I feel like people assume things without doing proper research.
