1. It touts being able to "scan and read" an ID but you have to scan the front first (which it records and saves) and then after scanning the back barcode just regurgitates what it saw on the front? It's clearly here for one reason only and that is data mining.

The one thing I hope is added in the future, is the ability to reorder the documents, and not have to accept them in the order scanned.One of the best passport scanners and data analyzing, I had some notes not to fix, but to make the use of the most of the application, Like building a local library for the scanned passports locally to the device, and build a data store for it.

3. I wouldn't mind if there was also an option to ONLY scan barcode instead of having to take a picture of the front first, but I understand that their purpose for this app is to improve their text from image software so they need the picture.

4. Primary purpose of the app is to collect data to improve their development, it'll use selfie camera while capturing with your main camera.

1. Fix IDsafe Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

1. Restart IDsafe: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the IDsafe App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "IDsafe" » Open IDsafe: ID & passport scanner » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for IDsafe » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear IDsafe: ID & passport scanner app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from IDsafe servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "IDsafe: ID & passport scanner" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check IDsafe app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, IDsafe might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall IDsafe. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall IDsafe then reinstall.
6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing IDsafe not working

2. Fix IDsafe Server issues & Internet Connection

1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make IDsafe be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to IDsafe not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, IDsafe may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
