Imray Navigator Customer Insights

1. Really, really disappointed with the product and would encourage Imray to look at the NV Charts app and consider using the same business model.Pro: Having raster charts available on my phone on deck is immeasurably useful - great to check what the paper chart says compared to vector charts on the plotter.

It has a very irritating habit of reverting to your position in the wider UK area rather than remaining at the zoom level of your local position last viewed if your put your phone down and the screen lock kicks inI'm fairly happy with the App for Android and it seems to have become more stable over the various iterations.

3. Given up!A useful app to track location, routes, send screen shots etc but not as your main electronic means of navigation as too small a screen on mobile and does not work on Windows laptops.

4. Well at least I can't find a way to do it, but its possible my Googlefu isn't up to scratch in trying to find the answer.This could be a nice app but the developers must stop it zooming out to world view all the time (e.g. if the screen is rotated or the menu is requested).

5. Very pleased, However I have since found another app which gives me the same full quality charts but for FREE ! I am not going to renew my subscription for local charts when other providers are offering the same without charge.

7. Con 2: Not a great plotter app: can't follow route, routes don't sync between devices, doesn't show boat COG/SOG vector.Consistently unable to do anything with this app.

8. Also no adds for a one off payment of £4.Will the reset to global outline be rectified before June 2021? This appears to occur after most events, such as route planning and is extremely frustrating even sat at home, never mind when pitching about at sea! This appears to be a backward step from previous versions.

9. Disappointing, I purchased a couple of charts thinking that like NV Charts I would also have access to the electronic version, but that is not how it works.

10. Overall my experience has not been great and I would be unable to recommend it to anyone, including for planning purposes only.Unable to log on to the app, even though I have an account with Imray that I can log on to outside the app via the internet.

11. Shame really because their paper charts and folio packs are excellent.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Imray Navigator Issues

1. Fix Imray Navigator Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Imray Navigator: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Imray Navigator App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Imray Navigator" » Open Imray Navigator » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Imray Navigator » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Imray Navigator app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Imray Navigator servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Imray Navigator" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Imray Navigator app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Imray Navigator might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Imray Navigator. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Imray Navigator then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Imray Navigator not working


2. Fix Imray Navigator Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Imray Navigator be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Imray Navigator not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Imray Navigator may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
