It's not the most polished or user-friendly file mgmt app (which is why I only use it to move large groups of files, as unintuitive and clunky as the process may be), but it's worth keeping on my phone for that reason alone.I have an OLD 4.1.1 tablet that had ES File Explorer on it I, which I had to uninstall due to MAJOR security reasons.

2. I installed Total Commander because it does NOT modify file dates when moving files (so they still sort correctly), which makes it unique among file mgmt apps, AFAIK.

4. MiXplorer didn't run so I finally found a copy of Solid Explorer Classic on APK mirror and now I'm happy.There's a bit of a learning curve to it, but this app is able to do what no other Android file manager (that I've used) can: mass extracting.

5. Download a zip file with a couple hundred zip files of its own inside? With a typical file manager, this is an absolute nightmare.

7. Thanks for making a great manager!Simple, easy-to-use, does what it says it does, and does it well! Pleased as punch with this app; it's installed on my tablet and my phone.

9. With plugins it has also replaced dedicated apps for cloud storage and LAN/SMB access makes it so I don't have to plug in my phone to transfer files from my home PC.

11. The last update however when I changed the settings to show only one bar for both screens and no top bar, I cannot find the settings button...anywhere! Is there anything that I'm overlooking or the settings are not accessible anymore? I even removed & reinstalled it, thinking that it will bring back the interface settings to no avail.

1. Fix Total Commander Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

1. Restart Total Commander: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the Total Commander App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Total Commander" » Open Total Commander - file manager » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Total Commander » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear Total Commander - file manager app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Total Commander servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Total Commander - file manager" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check Total Commander app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Total Commander might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall Total Commander. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Total Commander then reinstall.
6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Total Commander not working

2. Fix Total Commander Server issues & Internet Connection

1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Total Commander be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Total Commander not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Total Commander may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
