1. For example when phone is unlocked and a call comes in, if you hit "answer"on the heads up notification it will answer the call but the app doesn't come to the foreground and there's no way to let the person in.Even after giving all the permissions it asked for, it still asks for permissions.

2. Hitting "I'm sure" does nothing but make the pop up appear again, I have to hit cancel, then sign in again since the pop up interrupted the sign in processI have to do five steps including to pretend to go to app settings, just to get a gate to open.

3. There is no option to allow video calls.Unusable, says it needs permissions, doesn't specify which, but also has all permissions.

4. Having to open the app, login, clear the pop up, login again, then open my residence, then hitting the open gate button is entirely too many steps.Edit: Doesn't work at all now.

5. I don't want to accept video or audio calls.Ever since the last update I get a call but the app never opens, yet I hear the sounds from the gate.

6. Contacted cust service, and all they would say is, "Call your phone manufacturer."Even after giving all the permissions it asked for, it still asks for permissions.

7. I just want to use it to unlock the gate but it wants to force me to give it literally every permission, every time I open it.

8. I get a notification from the app, saying that it needs some permission to accept video calls, but it won't tell me what permission it needs.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix CellGate Issues

1. Fix CellGate Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart CellGate: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the CellGate App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "CellGate" » Open CellGate » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for CellGate » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear CellGate app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from CellGate servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "CellGate" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check CellGate app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, CellGate might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall CellGate. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall CellGate then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing CellGate not working


2. Fix CellGate Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make CellGate be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to CellGate not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, CellGate may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
