About myGovID

myGovID Customer Insights

1. Who is responsible for taking tax payers' money to implement this inept app? They won't give you an email address to email either, they make you call up their help line which sucks all the spare time in your day.Using the app has been incredibly frustrating.

2. If i had to describe my experience, I imagine it would be akin to heaving a huge, stinking dumpster fire up a very steep hill and letting go at the crest, sending the burning mass hurtling downhill at high-speed before watching it crash and burn in a spectacular fashion.

3. I'm going overseas soon for an extended period, meaning I won't get codes for mygov on my phone, and had hoped to use govid to log on there, but now I can foresee expensive phone calls to individual services instead.Like everything the gov does, awful app.

4. Something went wrong, yes, error NWK000003 - You don't even get the chance to login, hence the whole dumpster fire scenario.I am already registered so I try to login, however the app tells me I have to verify my id again.

5. Even after I finally got it set up (which took multiple calls to a helpline where they keep you on hold for 30 mins plus) and linked it to mygov, it is still giving error messages when I try to sign in.

6. I've been locked out numerous times, have had to constantly verify my documents and identity again and it seems impossible to connect my digital identity with it.

7. Every time, they are busy, but no one knows where they are busy because they are not picking up the calls.Not displaying code any longer after installing on new phone.

8. (How does one recognize the government app? It is the one that does not work.)Worse than useless, because it's so frustrating.

9. Rechecked details on my end and used photos and manual attempts, plus a fried to confirm the numbers were entered correct still would not verify.

10. It failed to verify my correct identity documents multiple times.

11. It has been terrible so far and the other reviews seem to confirm this.App is a broken mess.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix myGovID Issues

1. Fix myGovID Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart myGovID: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the myGovID App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "myGovID" » Open myGovID » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for myGovID » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear myGovID app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from myGovID servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "myGovID" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check myGovID app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, myGovID might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall myGovID. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall myGovID then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing myGovID not working


2. Fix myGovID Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make myGovID be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to myGovID not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, myGovID may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • My name is Graziella Barone,
    The MyGovID account was set up in error and is interfering with all my other government based apps. My login to this account is biansofi8@redacted and this is also my email address. I would like to delete all my data within the myGovID app, and also delete the account. I need to completely erase the full digital identity registered with the myGovID app. I want to enforce this under GDPR laws. I would like to notify myGovID of the penalty for non-compliance – a $7,500 fine under CCPA and 4% annual turnover under GDPR.
