1. For those having issues connecting with Android 8, I found this worked best for me: * Connect to the Asus HDD's wireless network before launching the app (to avoid instant crash); * Once connected, Android will inform you that there is no internet access, and ask if you want to stay connected - answer yes.
2. Why does it require access to contacts, why does it require access to record video, photo's and sound, why does it require access to make and receive calls (very questionable)... it is a storage and file management app.
3. I thought that the drive may be handy for storage whilst traveling BUT this extent of access causes me concern. This app has a very nice U.I. although lacks a Home Button to get back to the Main Menu easily on my TravelairAC device WSD-A1.
4. I don't think any app that is there to access a drive needs access to ANY of these permissions.Does not work properly - it stops before completing backup - the backup screen freezes.
5. Why can AiDrive not allow selection of other media players? If you cannot login to the drive you must disable your cellular data and then it will connect.
6. Wondering if the app has been updated for Android 8?Only uses AiDrive media and thus cannot see 90% of video files.
7. Yes it connects to the drive and you can see files and play them, but only in alphabetical order, there is no file sorting by artist, album etc and no playlists - unbelivable as this is a 1tb drive enabling us to put thousands of files on it.
8. In all, it seems that this is just a port of the app that did not have any effort put in to make it work in the Android environment. This app is totally useless for the purpose it is intended.
9. it is very annoying and waste of timeVery over reaching permissions requiring access to contacts, phone calls, camera.
10. I noticed unstable operation on my Samsung tablets running Android 7.1 & 8.1. My iPod Touch 6th gen on iOS 12.3 seems a bit more stable.
11. 🙃SD card backup hangs, playback on Samsung Galaxy S8 crashes, Wifi connection hangs even though connected.
