3. CSIR - National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI), Nagpur has launched a mobile application "Noise Tracker" to spread awareness against noise pollution.

4. The Noise Tracker app (Sound Meter App) has been developed by young researchers from CSIR-NEERI, Nagpur.

5. This App will use the phone microphone to measure environmental noise levels (decibels) and display noise levels on the mobile screen.

6. With this app, you can measure the current noise level emerging from various kind of sources efficiently and effectively.

7. This tool is not a professional device to measure decibels.

8. Microphones in most android devices are aligned to human voice.

9. The maximum values are limited by the device.

10. Very loud sounds (over ~90 dB) may not be recognized in most devices.

New UI is good, calculator and slm user are very useful for researchers as well as experts.It is very useful for environmental studies and to measure sound level, also it is very easy to use, I learnt important thing about noise pollution noise mapping and many .... Thanks sir for this useful application.. Thanks lot..Nice app, but requires work on permission level, like if i deny location permission app should show a dialog or some message that location permission is required for app and why.

4. Might be handy for some people but I should be able to choose if my location is tracked or not.Very useful app.What is accuracy of same? Recorded data is acceptable in the legal cases? Please clarify .

1. Fix Noise Tracker Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

1. Restart Noise Tracker: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the Noise Tracker App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Noise Tracker" » Open Noise Tracker » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Noise Tracker » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear Noise Tracker app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Noise Tracker servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Noise Tracker" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check Noise Tracker app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Noise Tracker might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall Noise Tracker. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Noise Tracker then reinstall.
6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Noise Tracker not working

2. Fix Noise Tracker Server issues & Internet Connection

1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Noise Tracker be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Noise Tracker not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Noise Tracker may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
