1. The dynamicWatch Companion for Android lets you sync your dynamicWatch routes and settings to your phone, and then later send routes to the dwMap navigation app on your Garmin watch without needing an Internet connection.
2. However if you sometimes change the dwMap route when you don't have an Internet connection, the Companion app lets you take your dynamicWatch routes offline, and change the route on the watch at any time.
3. The dwMap Connect IQ app on your Garmin GPS watch lets you explore new routes while you run, bike and hike, and already offers fast, wireless sync'ing with the dynamicWatch website.
4. You can import GPX route files saved on your phone or shared by other maps and routes app, and send them directly to dwMap on your watch.
5. The Companion app will sync your routes down to the phone whenever you open it, and the routes will be available even if the phone is later offline.
6. You can also change popular dwMap app settings, such as activity type, on the fly, and search for new destinations and create new "Quick Route" from your current location.
7. Normally the watch app downloads routes directly from the web site and you do not need this Companion app.
8. Perfect for that backcountry hike, ultra-run or long distance bike ride!
9. Premium users can also browse their Strava and Ride with GPS routes, and their dynamicWatch Collections directly within the app, and send them to dwMap on their watch.
1. This app is simply the companion app which is needed behind the scenes to synch routes onto your watch, but once installed you rarely need to actually open or use it as you use the dwMaps website (to plan and manage routes) and your actual navigation device (when running or walking etc).
2. You install, waist time with syncing device (which requires considerable effort ... installing other app from Garmin Connect, creating password and then using a code) AND then the app is useless if you don't buy a premium version.
3. There is a learning curve but you will be rewarded with the ability to plan routes on the fly, open with Garmin Connect and sync with your compatible devices.dwMaps is simply outstanding.
4. I pay for Strava and use Garmin Connect, and they are AWFUL at making routes.. dwMaps maps is so seamless in comparison.
5. I've just been for a walk in the Sierra Nevada in Andalucia, and planned a route with Garmin, Strava, Outdoor Active, and a local guide leaflet.
6. Please could you provide the ability to rename the route in the app? So many of my routes are called Companion route.
7. I can fairly easily transfer routes in my email to my garmin while straddling my bike at the meetup using my phone and the ConnectIQ app.
8. You could solve this by adding one button! The little watch icon that's on your website that tells the app which route to use.
9. *P.S you pay for the web interface functionality.. the app is useless.. which I am cool with!* Thanks :)DWMaps is Outstanding! Log in to their website first to get an account and set things up.
10. Just going to the website on your phone gives you a much better experience with more functionality.I made a lifetime purchase at a very reasonable cost.
11. This app then allows you to set the active route/ride/run for your garmin watch, rename it and i think it is really worth paying the annual $10.
