The Current Customer Insights

1. yes the app is updated on my phone which is a Samsung Galaxy S9+ & everything else works great on my phoneI've noticed recently there are problems with casting stream to chromecast speaker from your app.

2. Ridiculous! Uninstalling after less than 24 hours, beyond annoying 😑.App turns off half way through the song.

3. I get 1-2 adds at the start of the stream and then no interruptions from there for hours of listening.

4. I use this to listen to the current daily!Plays for about a minute then crashes.

5. I always miss a favorite song because of this and then I have to listen to 3 more ads before the next song.

6. Unfortunately, in this app (and the MPR Radio one) the Chromecast connection has been broken for awhile; it never connects to any of my devices.

7. It's made listening to one of my favorite stations intolerable.Interruptions literally every 15 seconds with ads.

8. however a lot of times the app stops showing who the artist & song is, so that gets a bit frustrating.

9. If it ain't broken, don't fix it!The current Playlist- I love the Current.

10. :(Not sure where all the negative reviews for ad breaks are coming from, I've been a user for about 6 years now and have had no issues.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix The Current Issues

1. Fix The Current Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart The Current: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the The Current App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "The Current" » Open The Current » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for The Current » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear The Current app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from The Current servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "The Current" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check The Current app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, The Current might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall The Current. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall The Current then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing The Current not working


2. Fix The Current Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make The Current be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to The Current not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, The Current may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
