1. 2. Choose from 35 different scales including chromatic, major, minor, and even blues scales. - Loop sequencer for easy track-making and live performance: The built-in loop sequencer lets you layer up to five musical parts.
3. "KORG Kaossilator for Android" is a synthesizer app that lets anyone enjoy full-fledged instrumental performance simply by freely moving their finger across the touch panel.
4. This easy yet full-fledged instrumental experience is now available on your Android smartphone. - Perform using touch gestures: Kaossilator uses the unique X-Y interface.
5. From electronic sounds to acoustic instruments and drums, you can play a wide range of sounds with a single finger.
6. Also provided is a sequencer that's indispensable for creating songs, so you can create tracks by recording and layering your performances.
7. By recording sounds such as synth, bass, chords, sound effects, and drums into each part, you can quickly complete original loop tracks that are distinctively your own.
1. I'm adding this to my live setup!Spent all night messing with it and still love it! I own the hardware version of this and while the app isn't even close, it's a great tool/toy to play with! The sounds are good, the interface is mild, (could use some improvements, but is decent) ... Highly suggested turning up the sensitivity on your display, it helps the app detect better.
2. But once I started messing around, tweaking the built-in grooves to make them less cheesy, I discovered that I can import my own samples! Then power of this way of working opened up! Understanding how saving works and locating the file folder in /Android/data/jp.korg.kaossiltaor.android/ was annoying.
3. Major con is no overdubs ( you only get 5 tracks ) , and no master volume control or individual track volume controls which is a serious design flaw that I can not believe Korg left out.
4. ... Wish there was an Ableton Link... ... Also a way to mute one of the 5 tracks in sequencer mode, like double tap to mute that one channel. The "light show" you see during playback of the supplied loops is SO cool.
5. Ideally I'd like a timeline to mix the loops I make or at least an easy way to save out the loop as separate instruments so I can mix them in another program. This app wouldn't be too bad if it didn't randomly overwrite loop save files.
6. I highly recommend it for anyone who is into making music.I was hoping the app's controls would be a bit more accessible since I'm blind and use the TalkBack screen reader.
7. I've had this same issue myself--from the version I first downloaded, and in each of the three updates Korg has releases since, including the latest.
8. My one and only complaint is that sometimes loops I make end up "Corrupted" When I select them they won't play and I lose that loop forever.
9. On the bright side my battery lasts days longer when I don't use this app.I'm gonna give it to Korg for making this kaossilator.
10. It's fun to make loops with and I think with practice it would be good for live performances.
11. Lastly, an easier way to load samples, if not a sample/input access for live sampling.I've been playing with it for about a day now so this is an early review.
