About Locate

1. All units that have their discovery setting turned on are automatically detected and listed by the app. - The detected units can be sorted by [Name], [Model], [IP Address] and [Link Status]. - The Identify function causes the LED indicators on the front panel of the selected unit to blink so it can be easily identified. - Link Status indicates whether the unit is set up as a Primary or Expansion unit (when applicable). - When the app connects to a unit, it automatically opens the corresponding Web Remote Interface.

2. Audio-Technica Locate enables you to use an Android device to easily connect to and control Audio-Technica units present on the local wireless network.

3. Locate offers a quick and easy way to view units on the network and access the Web Remote Interface.

4. These units must be connected to the wireless network used by the Android device.

5. Audio-Technica Locate only functions with the aforementioned units.

7. The simplified setup doesn’t require knowledge of a unit's IP address.

1. This app doesn't do that, but it also does seem to do anythingDidn't work, I have my ATH-M50xBT paired a.d was hoping this would give me further info on the headphones.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Locate Issues

1. Fix Locate Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Locate: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Locate App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Locate" » Open Locate » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Locate » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Locate app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Locate servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Locate" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Locate app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Locate might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Locate. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Locate then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Locate not working


2. Fix Locate Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Locate be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Locate not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Locate may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
