Guardian TE Customer Insights

1. The app is able to control the air purifier again! (Hooray!) Really looking forward to seeing native Google Assistant Home control support for the air purifier so I don't need to bounce around between apps to control all of my "smart" devices!I'm extremely disappointed in the app's lack of functionality.

2. This is on good wifi signal.Bluetooth not connecting: I've been trying to connect the air purifier to my bluetooth, literally a few inches away from it, and my phone doesn't detect it.

3. The Google assistant integration is clunky, often disconnects if your device name is more than one word, and even when it says it works it doesn't.

4. I'm very disappointed the a quality name like Guardian would release such a poor app.I'd give it 5 stars because the User Interface is great BUT the dang thing will not connect back to wifi when my power goes out.

5. I have to unplug the purifier, plug it back in, hit forget device on the app, press the button till it blinks green and then reconnect it EVERYTIME.

6. The advertising for the air purifier, and the instruction manual, says it works with Google Home/Assistant.

7. It can connect to all my other devices (though I made sure everything is off before trying to use this app) but it won't pick up the "Link" signal.Truly an awful app.

8. Absurd.The app stopped being able to control the air purifier.

9. "Must have internet access" - Why? I should be able to control it within my own network, from app, from Google Home, and from IFTTT.

10. Overall the air purifier is a wonderful product, but this really defeats the main selling features.

11. But it doesn't show up in the list of brands/devices in the Google Home app, which means it can't be used with Google Assistant.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Guardian TE Issues

1. Fix Guardian TE Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Guardian TE: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Guardian TE App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Guardian TE" » Open Guardian TE » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Guardian TE » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Guardian TE app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Guardian TE servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Guardian TE" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Guardian TE app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Guardian TE might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Guardian TE. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Guardian TE then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Guardian TE not working


2. Fix Guardian TE Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Guardian TE be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Guardian TE not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Guardian TE may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
