fraenk Customer Insights

1. Calling from Germany to other countries including EU is not possible! This is not only unacceptable, they are also hiding this point from new costumers, it is nowhere to find in their website! Regarding your answer to my comment, the following appears in your FAQ under calls from abroad not to abroad: "Verbindungen von Deutschland ins Ausland sowie Auslandsverbindungen außerhalb der EU verursachen extra Kosten und sind mit der fraenk flat nicht möglich." This very unclear and confusing.Do you need a sim card? or a phone number? Go anywhere else.

2. The price is awesome for the 8 GB you basically receive by default from the 6th of december on.It seems like a good deal when I decided to switch to Fraenk, but now I realized that I can't get an e-sim for my Fairphone because they only offer it for a limited set of devices, can't call foreign numbers and customer support doesn't speak English.

3. Besides of that, I am happy with it (dark mode with black background and bright grey letters and dark grey instead of yellow, would be a fine alternative when it is dark outside (something that doesn't hurt the eye so maybe dark orange but your developer team probably won't like it - so grey then)Used fraenk for 2 years now and only just cancelled cause I'm moving abroad.

4. Took 3 Devices and 20 trys to finally verify The service/price is good though.great service, both network and customer!It was the "-" "minus" (I made a different pw though) .

5. I'll be back ;)As an eSIM option for Fairphone still isn't available and fraenk is lacking an inclusive non-binary/diverse or at least a "prefer not to say" form of address, I withdraw two stars.

6. Before you insert your SIM Card accessing support is made difficult by hiding it.

8. But the best part was that i was able to use their WLAN calling in another country and used the sim almost as if I was jn Germany.Verification is buggy.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix fraenk Issues

1. Fix fraenk Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart fraenk: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the fraenk App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "fraenk" » Open fraenk: Mobile Contract App » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for fraenk » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear fraenk: Mobile Contract App app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from fraenk servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "fraenk: Mobile Contract App" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check fraenk app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, fraenk might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall fraenk. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall fraenk then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing fraenk not working


2. Fix fraenk Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make fraenk be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to fraenk not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, fraenk may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
