1. Now in their 10th year as a mobile app, and their 12th online, the Wise Pilgrim Guides are the go-to source of up-to-date information on the Camino de Santiago.
2. It has been redesigned and now works almost exclusively offline (to share your comments with others will require a data connection).
3. As more an more albergues share their WiFi this becomes less of an issue, and the guide will tell you which ones offer WiFi.
4. Every location in the app gives you the opportunity to leave a comment and to read the comments left by others.
5. This guide covers the Camino Portugués along the Central, the Coastal, and the Variante Espiritual routes.
6. This one is hard to show with just a screenshot, but the elevation that appears at the top of every city page scrolls East to West.
7. A full directory of Albergues, camping, hotels, pensions, paradors, and cases rurales.
8. Offline and online versions of a beautiful topographical may will give you a good view of the terrain ahead.
9. Have a restaurant that you want to share, or perhaps one to warn others about?
10. The app is updated regularly with new content and new features and offers you the ability to leave tips for pilgrims following behind you.
11. Jean Pied de Port to Santiago, uninterrupted by page folds.
1. Using the app on Camino at the moment and it is better than any guide book.Pretty useful and I like having the map but it does crash a LOTWill not let give refund.
2. I've persevered because I've wanted to leave comments for other peregrinos letting them know which albergues are open, but even the commenting function doesn't work most of the time.
3. It is a little glitchy: it takes a long time to update the location on the map and sometimes crashes.App content is great! You pay the price of a guidebook and get an app guide.
4. It's also no possible to jump from the map to this list or vice versa, making both less useful as you need to match manually.
5. However, the app keeps crashing every time you reopen it, what is a very consuming battery process (and battery is elixir for pilgrims rs).
6. Maps.me didn't have this problem using the same data.
7. Also really confusing that the text description for each town actually describes leaving the town, rather than arriving in it.this is a great app for planning.
8. So many recommendations given by othets that this would be helpful to flag them.Online Maps would never load.
9. Totally not worth the money I spend on this app!!Crashes constantly - when opening, navigating, zooming in and out, and randomly.
10. A really useful app for staying on the way, re-finding the way, seeing cafés and bars ahead, finding accommodation etc.
11. Regardless of using off-line or on-line maps.
