1. Plus it was also a great tool to use some of your miles to purchase gift cards for everyday items as well... But then suddenly just quit working, it wouldn't let me log in, and it kept telling me it didn't recognize my account.

2. Nothing really makes a difference, on occasion you might get lucky and be able to buy a gift cardCan't even use it since the update, getting error msgs every time I try to buy a card.

3. 99% of the time when trying to purchase a gift card it says Purchase Failed and to contact customer support through email.

5. I also drop a star because they make it very difficult to delete a credit card once added (adding is easy), & the fact that you have to do this on your MileagePlus profile isn't even mentioned in the MileagePlus X FAQ.Update: United contacted me and gave me a potential solution.

6. I had large purchases I was looking forward to making with the app and my double points credit cards but the app will not complete the purchases of the gift cards I need to buy.

7. I have been using this app for at least 3 years at this point.The app was working great for a long time and was really helping me bump-up my miles.

8. Way to go in making it LESS user-friendly and slower right at the busiest shopping time of the year! Will be using my other shopping rewards memberships until this improves.

10. They advised me to go into my Mileage Plus account (website) and re-enter my address / phone number for each credit card I had registered on the site.

11. Two hours messing with this and gave up.Previously I would have given it 4 stars, but they overhauled the app a while back & removed an important feature--the ability to refresh balances on purchased cards.

1. Fix United MileagePlus X Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

1. Restart United MileagePlus X: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the United MileagePlus X App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "United MileagePlus X" » Open United MileagePlus X » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for United MileagePlus X » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear United MileagePlus X app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from United MileagePlus X servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "United MileagePlus X" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check United MileagePlus X app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, United MileagePlus X might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall United MileagePlus X. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall United MileagePlus X then reinstall.
6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing United MileagePlus X not working

2. Fix United MileagePlus X Server issues & Internet Connection

1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make United MileagePlus X be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to United MileagePlus X not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, United MileagePlus X may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
