Tuya Smart Customer Insights

1. Sometimes, this problem only affects the voice control through Alexa/Google, but sometimes the app will also not work, and I have to reboot the app a couple of times before it works.Not ok, the camera has great picture, but the connection and the app are horrendous.

2. It's essentially the same app as "Smart Life" with a few UI differences...works with the same devices.This Tuya Smart app used to work without too many issues, but after the last two or three updates, this app no longer functions correctly.

3. I don't need access to the camera every 5 min, I haven't checked it in weeks and was logged out and cannot connect to the camera at all.

4. Even if you allow location for only the one time, it takes multiple attempts to connect to the lights just a few feet away.

5. I've tried moving the camera to a different angle but still get snapshots whenever a bird or a bug flies by.

6. Cannot access remotely, if I'm not within Bluetooth range it doesn't work.

7. You cannot operate the lights without the app, as there is only one button to initiate connecting to that app.First week was very rocky and frustrating.

8. The cameras will show up after I do a force stop on the app and will work for awhile.

9. All lights worked properly and response time was quick.

10. Either or.Like the HD option, like the camera controls, easy to install and operate.

11. I'm pretty disappointed with how frequently they will disconnect/non-responsive, sometimes even one out of a pair that share a power source while the other continues to work.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Tuya Smart Issues

1. Fix Tuya Smart Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Tuya Smart: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Tuya Smart App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Tuya Smart" » Open Tuya Smart » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Tuya Smart » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Tuya Smart app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Tuya Smart servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Tuya Smart" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Tuya Smart app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Tuya Smart might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Tuya Smart. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Tuya Smart then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Tuya Smart not working


2. Fix Tuya Smart Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Tuya Smart be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Tuya Smart not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Tuya Smart may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • I need to cancel my subscription. I talked someone on the phone two weeks ago and was supposed to receive an email, which I did not. The money is deduct from my Bank account monthly. Very frustrating I cannot cancel the account. I do not have an account to refer to
