1. I have bluetooth turned on on my phone (Samsung S8) always but I am constantly having to manually re-sync my watch to my phone, usually daily, in order to get texts on my phone and sync data.

2. The frustration with connecting watch and phone has grown weekly; don't think the watch has ever connected immediately and often now I need to turn the phone off/on two or three times to prompt the sync.

It seems to be most successful if I stare at it the whole time and keep touching my phone to prevent the screen from turning off, which is less than an ideal experience.I like the features of the app like keeping track of mileage, splits, and maps but an area that needs much improvement is the bluetooth pairing/syncing.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix TomTom Sports Issues

1. Fix TomTom Sports Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart TomTom Sports: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the TomTom Sports App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "TomTom Sports" » Open TomTom Sports » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for TomTom Sports » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear TomTom Sports app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from TomTom Sports servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "TomTom Sports" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check TomTom Sports app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, TomTom Sports might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall TomTom Sports. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall TomTom Sports then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing TomTom Sports not working


2. Fix TomTom Sports Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make TomTom Sports be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to TomTom Sports not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, TomTom Sports may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
