ES Remote Customer Insights

1. You seriously can't create a Bluetooth driver that can connect without deleting the BT driver and re-connecting manually because I went out of BT range with my phone? Or... a remote for my phone? Sony needs to fire some dead weight.Allows you to change source and volume only.

2. I wish Sony would update and maintain this app for the newer versions of Android.Freaking awesome! Since I have HDMI cables running to multiple rooms/tvs/projectors it was always difficult to adjust receiver settings.

3. One would expect that, having spent about $700.00 on the STR-ZA810ES receiver, the app would be compatible with it -- no such luck! Sony does not care about added value and convenience for the customer.

4. I will never buy another Sony product ever again.I really liked this using this app with my STR-DA5700ES and STR-DA5800ES receivers, but with the recent update of Android to version 10, the menu function in the app no longer works, severely limiting it's usefulness.

5. If you read the description, you will see that this app only supports 4 a/v recievers that Sony makes, and ot even tells you what those 4 a/v recievers are, thank you for playing though.Trash app, does not work.

6. Why don't you bother to support your products, Sony? Regret not buying another Yamaha.Doesn't work.. Can't connect.

7. Worked for three years, then Sony updated tha app and excluded my receiver from it.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix ES Remote Issues

1. Fix ES Remote Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart ES Remote: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the ES Remote App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "ES Remote" » Open ES Remote » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for ES Remote » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear ES Remote app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from ES Remote servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "ES Remote" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check ES Remote app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, ES Remote might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall ES Remote. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall ES Remote then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing ES Remote not working


2. Fix ES Remote Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make ES Remote be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to ES Remote not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, ES Remote may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
