1. However, maintenance on this app needs improvement: Vocab tests 6 and 7 both have bugged questions with 5 answers(you can tell which answer they want you to pick but it's offset too) and the Listening tests have bugs scattered about, in test 9 Questions 2 and 5 are undoable because the audio for the options are cut off in Q2 and the audio for the entire of Q5 isn't played beyond the first sentence.

2. The audio quality is also a little fuzzy in some of the listening tests, but that's not a deal breaker.The content is great.

3. Also, one of the grammar points presents only a blank screen.It's good but it does not explain good (on my opinion) the grammar and vocabulary, it's only a scedule like in kanjis.

4. I'm not sure if it's an isolated case, but I encountered some issues in the listening tests.

5. It happened at 3-4 times in the last five listening tests I took.

6. I haven't finished all tests but I feel the tests in the app are more difficult than the ones in my books.

10. Thank you!The app is useful, but I often come across random Kanjis that I can't read and would appreciate the ability to either click on them and see the furigana or copy them.

11. Updating the vocabulary lessons would be useful.I know this is an impossible request (due to current format perhaps).

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix JLPT N5 Issues

1. Fix JLPT N5 Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart JLPT N5: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the JLPT N5 App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "JLPT N5" » Open JLPT N5 - Complete Lessons » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for JLPT N5 » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear JLPT N5 - Complete Lessons app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from JLPT N5 servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "JLPT N5 - Complete Lessons" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check JLPT N5 app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, JLPT N5 might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall JLPT N5. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall JLPT N5 then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing JLPT N5 not working


2. Fix JLPT N5 Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make JLPT N5 be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to JLPT N5 not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, JLPT N5 may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
