HiLookVision Customer Insights

1. Update - playback still no goodHot garbage works for 1 minute of playback then stops and corrupts, then 99% of the time when going through footage you will get stuck with random 86%/98%/67% Buffering wheel, it just instantly makes up the number and doesnt do anything.

2. Now it has randomly logged me out and I can no longer get logged in as it won't accept any of the captcha entries which means the app, and therefore the whole expensive camera system is completely useless! I tried uninstalling & reinstalling but still getting the same error.It's not bad at showing live camera footage but when you ask it to do playback it often struggles to get the clip loaded, unless it's for the previous day which seems odd.

3. I'm not being picky here but it's so irritating.This app is realy good at live stream but totally useless when it comes to playback and record it just won't play where you want to start it from then goes off a few seconds later same when you try to download it aswell.

4. The new red one has a MAJOR problem during playback and based on how this blue one works, it seems it's an issue they fixed a long time ago.

5. Live view works well most of the, but if you want to view motion alarms in the day time it's not that good.

6. When seeking during playback footage, the red app will stop streaming video.

7. Update - playworks well at night when under the I.R, but the as soon as daylight arrives playback doesn't work very well.

8. Figure out how to play more than 2 minutes worth of 8X video while searching before the screen goes blank and you have to deal with the buffering problems again.

9. It needs resetting each time it loads, I have 3 cameras & they all require reinstating to view each time app is opened.

10. The execution of this app blows.This blue app works much better than the new red one, even though this hasn't received an update in almost 4yrs.

11. it's the god awful garbage HIK Servers and the App, Does the same thing on Android and Windows Apps.Updated to this new version.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix HiLookVision Issues

1. Fix HiLookVision Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart HiLookVision: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the HiLookVision App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "HiLookVision" » Open HiLookVision » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for HiLookVision » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear HiLookVision app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from HiLookVision servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "HiLookVision" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check HiLookVision app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, HiLookVision might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall HiLookVision. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall HiLookVision then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing HiLookVision not working


2. Fix HiLookVision Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make HiLookVision be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to HiLookVision not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, HiLookVision may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • Hi,my problem is that one of my four cameras,doesn’t pick me up if I walk within detection range,I appear a a “fuzzy still”at the start of the replay,then not at all on the playback.I’m also getting a”failed to search video” message many time on the same camera,many thanks in advance,Chris Stevens
