Trenitalia Customer Insights

Also, I haven't found a way to get historical connection info, which would be nice if you'd like to pick up friends from the train station or if you'd need the info for other purposes.Purchase of bike ticket is not possible within the app, losing a lot of time (the ticketing machines are incredibly slow and overcrowded).Jun 2021: I purchased tickets Fiumicino-Rome-Naples from the US, but when I paid, my schedule was off by one day.

2. the purchase as guest requires a lot of info that it needs each time and is lost in the app if you lose internet connection, which is likely when on a train!App is very slow and a bit buggy.

3. No Samsung PayKeeps charging the time table first I can book a ticket for an early train, than I check something and when I go back to book, the time is no longer available.

4. Mind you, you do learn how to say the names of the cities in Italian; example, Florence = FirenzeDid not give me my first ticket from Roma Termini, if your going to use the app only get straight trains, connections are bad to deal with.

5. I doubt 250 people booked a seat for that time in 6 minutes... shame it could be such a good convenient appThere is a bug when you select the "frequent travel suggestion", i selected it but instead it appeared in an opposite order.

6. You need to purchase tickets the day prior to the actual date you need, and refunds do not work.Clunky and not intuitive.

7. also the ticket doesn't sync so you have to always get the pdf files from your email..please fix its disappointing specially if you use the app frequently..Makes buying tickets easier, and in some cases I could buy last minute.

8. It seems that you have paid but actually satispay app closes like everything is ok but when you return to trenitalia app again you get no ticket.

9. not well designed for foreigners as you need a tax ID to create an account, and the only way to do it is by sending an email that is not well advertised or shown on the app .

10. Be careful, because the app seems to use your local time instead of the departure/arrival location.

11. It failed to warn me that I would not be able to change the date (for Fiumicino-Rome) before I purchased the trip.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Trenitalia Issues

1. Fix Trenitalia Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Trenitalia: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Trenitalia App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Trenitalia" » Open Trenitalia » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Trenitalia » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Trenitalia app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Trenitalia servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Trenitalia" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Trenitalia app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Trenitalia might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Trenitalia. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Trenitalia then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Trenitalia not working


2. Fix Trenitalia Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Trenitalia be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Trenitalia not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Trenitalia may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
