1. Similarly, would be good to have a garden birds section to really narrow it down for beginners to get into bird song identification from the comfort of your home.Nice for "listen again" to birdsong you already know, but not otherwise useful.
2. One call per bird but birds have different kinds of calls - alarm, calling a mate, touching base with others of their kind - and this gives one recording without telling which it is.
3. For birds with multiple songs and bird with multiple songs and calls are harder to master as only one song / call is played.
4. Cons: Some of the bird call recording aren't quite clear enough... The background noises can be rather hush-mufflingI really like the simplicity of this app: both a useful 'search' facility and clear bird calls.
5. If the errors were ironed out, this would be 5 stars, but to miseducate novice birders who won't even realise they're being miseducated just isn't on.This is a brilliant app to have on your phone and for helping you find out what birds are singing by their song so you can identify them.
6. Otherwise though, very fun app for a nature beginner.Useful when learning bird songs.
7. Ocassional sounds can be hard to hear (example: the bittern) and occasionally you can hear another bird in the backround making it a little confusing at times.
8. But apart from that, this is a very useful app that makes you a better birder in a relatively short space of time.I'd like to give five stars, but some of the sounds have background noise like traffic and sound terrible.
9. Also when selecting birds off to the right hand side the page jumps up or down because the scroll is on this side of using a phone.
10. Oh deep joy of great bird song and who is doing the singing.
11. I'll stick with the RSPB website.I really like this app but unfortunately a lot of the answers in the guess the bird picture game are wrong.
