1. Not sure how much "language" I'm really going to learn here, but it's doing an excellent job of helping me learn to see a string of letters and figure out what sound they make--which is a very useful skill when traveling.I enjoy learning the language word by word, but I feel that the ability to choose the topic you are learning can lead to jumping of a cliff when there is a trail the leads down.
2. Well done.I do really like this app for interactiveness and the way you can go back to your words like flashcards and listen to them again and how it's more visual instead of giving you English translation (except for the first time); however, I have been using this app for a few months and it seems to mostly just be of vocabulary learning tool.
3. It's my only option or icelandic that doesn't put me on the streetsI'm not a big fan of the strictly vocabulary-focused format with occasional lessons that suddenly dump entire sentences on you with no explanation of grammar, but it's a good product for what it is, and is the best of the Icelandic options i tried.
4. You learn how they sound and have to learn how to spell them as well, but you don't have to type the special characters yourself because the app has the letters pop up on the screen.I wish there were full sentences, but that might come later.
5. And it has a lot of words to offer!I gave 4 stars earlier review... upgrading to 5 stars...also paid for year's premium subscription.
6. If i were to suggest one improvement, it would be a list of written out pronunciations (as in a dictionary) of learned words, accessible through a menu.
7. Help !!The app makes it really easy to learn words in many different ways.
8. Not only does it teach you to speak it, but it teaches spelling, and to familiarize yourself with hearing the worlds and learning to associate them with certain representative visuals.
9. So if you feel like you might have issues with memorizing words, you can always refer to certain topics and practice more.
10. I have mastered over 150 Icelandic words and now have a new phone and want to transfer my progress to the new phone.
11. I like it.The format of mini-lessons only available at intervals has really motivated me to use this app! My official "streak" is only 15 days because of some weirdness with the way they count days, but really I've used it every single day since I downloaded it, about 25 days ago.
