TAXImet Customer Insights

1. It breaks down every charge associated with the drive.It's a pretty simple app and the features are great BUT it does not work with GPS alone, needs WiFi/data for it to work Edit: (Reply to developer) If Wi-Fi is not on a pop-up message would appear "To continue, turn on device location, which uses Google's location services Your device will need to: turn on Wi-Fi" I'll give this a 5 star if you can show me how to overcome this problem through phone setting change (not that I haven't tried already).

2. When the journey and the meter is stopped, there is no feature to reset the meter so when you pick up the next customer the meter would show 0.00. It currently still displays the last fare before you start the meter again, this causes confusion when your customer first gets in, they think the meter is already running.

3. The support and help from Taxi Meter was great, very helpful when I asked them to calibrate the app to my existing meter rates, no problem at all.

4. If it is then we are good to go.Fantastic App, does everything you need from a taxi meter and more! Easy to use.

5. It should be able to carry on from stopped, I could learn the habit of pausing at the end of a journey, and stop once the customer paid, perhaps the stop and pause / resume button could be the size?Wonderful app, but it's missing one thing.

6. My only complaint is that if your screen rotates from landscape to portrait it resets the meter which means the fare is no longer visible.

7. I would give a 5 star if y'all could fix that.I have just installed this app, I am not sure that I will use it, my main concern is that once the meter is stopped, it resets to zero.

8. Start meter - Stop meter - Reset back to 0.00 That would be betterBetter than I expected.

9. Now I can meter my taxi and pay all in the same screen.

10. I just need to understand if the reporting information can be extracted in a form compliant with my licensing authority's requirements.

11. Something to consider for a future update.The new updates have been great! I love the integration of the square POS system into this.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix TAXImet Issues

1. Fix TAXImet Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart TAXImet: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the TAXImet App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "TAXImet" » Open TAXImet - Taximeter » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for TAXImet » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear TAXImet - Taximeter app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from TAXImet servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "TAXImet - Taximeter" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check TAXImet app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, TAXImet might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall TAXImet. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall TAXImet then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing TAXImet not working


2. Fix TAXImet Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make TAXImet be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to TAXImet not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, TAXImet may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
