Passage Customer Insights

1. This occurs without fail, but the good part is that it always works on the second try.The app is great but recently I have had so many technical difficulties, my current bus pass has been marked as expired even though it doesn't expire until December and I can only see it in the purchase history.

2. Due to reliability, I would not recommend them for the future.Been using this for a while and in the beginning I tend to have no problem and is really handy overtime it tends to start slowing down and it doesnt help to wait for it to load up my pass as the drivers are waiting for me.

3. Beware, users!I'm new to bus riding and usually only used ubers or lyfts out of convenience but this app is about to make me a bus convert! Very user friendly, just click buy pass, choose what ticket/pass you want, checkout, and click "Activate" on the screen when your bus comes.

4. Do better.When it works it's fine but does NOT always work with my mobile data and gets confused when my phone switches from WiFi networks to data and has Locked me out several times....no one has WiFi when catching the bus and some buses don't even have WiFi so I am so confused on what the issue is.

5. My only real complaint is that there is some glitch where I have to go to the buy passes screen twice -- on my old phone, the app would shut down when I tried to checkout; on my new phone, it returns to the pass wallet.

6. It's definitely a lot better then paying $20 for uber and only $2 for this like wow.Overall great, but I just had an issue with a one ride pass that I just activated.

7. Support has been nice enough to refund when I've missed the bus from not being able to get app working but it's really becoming an issue.

8. 2 stars until that's fixed.I'm new to this app and it was confusing at first bc I was trying to find where I put in my destination then purchase but it wasn't like that you just buy the ticket then activate it when the bus arrives.

9. It was so good until recent updates.Maybe once upon a time, they used to service Pierce Transit, but they do not anymore as was made obviously clear when I attempted to buy a ticket.

10. This app is a SCAM! DO NOT DOWNLOAD!! UPDATE: The app mysterious started working after the fact (this review) and I have been issued a refund.

11. I didn't want to keep the bus waiting, so I activated another pass.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Passage Issues

1. Fix Passage Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Passage: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Passage App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Passage" » Open Passage: Transit Ticketing » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Passage » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Passage: Transit Ticketing app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Passage servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Passage: Transit Ticketing" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Passage app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Passage might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Passage. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Passage then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Passage not working


2. Fix Passage Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Passage be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Passage not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Passage may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
