1. Capture group text may be replaced in response actions by using $1,$2,$3, etc, where the number specified is the index of the captured group.
2. BlowTorch is a basic telnet client that supports the following features that people find helpful for playing MUDs.
3. Buttons can be grouped onto pages by using button sets accessible through the MENU button.
4. MUD/MUSH/MOO Servers are text based games that operate similar to terminal applications.
5. Custom buttons are made through long pressing the window where you want the button to be.
6. BlowTorch now supports Portrait mode as well as Landscape mode!
7. This will enable regular expression parsing for the entered pattern.
8. A host name and port are used to connect a player to a game.
9. Triggers can be extended by turning off "Literal" parsing.
10. Problems, Questions and Bug reports should be emailed to the developer email address for the quickest response.
1. Overall a very good client, better than all the others I've found on the Play Store. The first thing I saw on opening was a message that said to use the button below to add a new connection, but there were three unlabeled buttons below.
2. The customizable buttons are a huge plus and easy to edit.Overall I enjoy the app, but trying to use copy/paste on links that won't auto-open is a PITA to get the wanted part to highlight.
3. Other than that, it has made playingnmy favorite games mobile, and that's wonderful.App regularly forgets all mud data, this means you have to type in the site a port manually.
4. Only problem is my world list keeps vanishing and I have to type in my worlds all over again, which is mildly annoying but isn't a big deal for me since I only play one or two MUDs frequently.
5. It's easy to use, but I have to set up buttons and triggers and the game access information several times a week. The best MUD client on mobile.
6. I did have to enable compatability mode to get the input to behave like I wanted it, and sometimes I'll accidentally open the text selection tool that seemingly freezes the feed until it's closed.
7. It allows you to save multiple worlds, use on screen buttons and even the keyboard is not completely obscuring the screen like some other ones.
8. The only thing that is a thumbs down is the app randomly "crashes" even though it really doesn't? After that happens if you do not completely close your connection window and open a new one the previously sent characters remain and it acts funny.
9. Barely any scripting and the features that do exist sometimes fail (e.g. timers rarely work when activated by script; triggers sometimes lose reactions, possibly not serialized/deserialized correctly and disappears after reload).
10. Unfortunately, it crashes periodically and often loses my saved info (game and port, triggers, button sets, etc.) It's frustrating because of that.
11. Can't imagine why that would happen outside of Blowtorch failing, since I can verify the server functional on Mudlet. Why is this still the best android has for a MUD client in 2023? I mean that adoringly.
