1. It mostly works OK , but one test failed: when the user is asked to turn off the lights, this action supposed to trigger the change in the AR object - the model of the city - I have been expecting that it will cause the city looks like it was a night 🌃 time, you know the lights from the windows in the buildings and stuff like that, sadly when I turned off the lights it reset the app! The app was not able to show anything - the camera was black. It's a nice demo of current AR capabilities, as well as a basic guide for anyone thinking of creating an AR app.
2. ARCore Elements includes Plane Finding streamlining the key steps involved in detecting a surface and Object Manipulation using intuitive gestures to rotate, elevate, move, and resize virtual objects.Great way to demonstrate the best UI/UX practices when designing an AR app.
3. The plane detection may need some more work but it's a great app if you are exploring experience design using Augmented Reality platform.Even though my Moto G82 5G running Android 12 is listed as a compatible device I am unable to access the Google AR Animals programme.
4. - doesn't work with all ARCore compatible phones - no source code to be found - nothing to show how to get there with Sceneform.
5. No screen clutter, little tilting when moving objects and other visual cues...all these little things have such a huge impact on the end result.
6. App might simply require a more powerful device to run well. Here the ARCore team show again, that nothing changed since Tango.
7. Update: It took 2 months to make this app available for all ARCore compatible devices.
8. It works very well even with one cameraMoved my S10e in circles for a good couple minutes and decided to just toss the app aside.
9. i would hope ARcore works better on Pixels because it's bad here.Very well made.
10. Content is still lacking.Love the idea of visual cues for offscreen content.
11. Arcore elements opens briefly and then immediately closes.
