1. And the sounds I have been able to create are insane in the best way possible.Brilliant little synthesizer and brilliant UI~ One suggestion which would really improve the user experience would be in the 'edit modules' window: when dropping a module into an existing patch, the potential inputs and destinations for the specific module (pitch, gate etc) would very helpful.
2. Also, the desired sound can not be produced while changing parameters like pitch, attack, release etc ,on contrary, that prduces weird bad sound than pre defined sounds.A great way to explore sound without needing 3,500 pounds of gear & 17 miles worth of cable.
3. I'm sure it has a flavor all its own that I'm missing out on and others might enjoy, but from what I've seen there are similar, more stable apps available. This app is excellent and support from developer is great.
4. Anyway, because you have to "patch" modules together to make noises/sounds/music, this may not be everyone' cup of tea (in which case I can highly recommend the developer's other app, Easy Synth), but, for me, most of the fun lies with experimenting on patching the various modules in different ways.
5. Other than that fantastic app and well worth the five dollars!ModSynth offers a shocking amount of depth for a synth that runs a phone.
6. There're some shortcomings, of course - not very sleek, workman-like UI; unpredictable buffer hick-ups when doing self-modulating patches with extreme values; parameter values could be labeled in more contextually relevant way (instead of 0-100); which keeps it from being straight 5*.
7. I installed Easysynth a whopping ten years ago, and this is such an incredible improvement it is astonishing!! Really excellent work!Frequently crashed or crashed my audio engine.
8. I don't have the most top of the line phone, but SunVox delivers similar functionality without randomly dying or going silent *shrug*.
9. I've been using soft modulars for 18 years, but have never seen an implementation of polyphony in modular that worked so well as Modsynth. There is a serious issue in this app.
10. Still, very worthwile and powerful for a phone app. When I select to add another module, there is no way of going back to the keyboard.
11. User interface is simple and intuitive and sound quality is good.
